Coastal Building Systems of Amelia Island Incorporated was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313878589, citation 01, item number 002, issued on September 23, 2010, with respect to a workplace at 145 River Bee Drive Lot #73, Aberdeen Florida 32259. The final order date was October 12, 2010. Coastal Building Systems of Amelia Island Incorporated was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315483255, citation 02, item number 002, issued on January 11, 2012, with respect to a workplace at 4331 Song Sparrow Drive, Middleburg, Florida 32068. The final order date was January 26, 2012. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure: a. Employees performing roofing operations on steep-pitched roofs at elevations are not protected from a 10.2 feet fall hazard by use of a guardrail system, safety net system, personal fall arrest system or any alternative fall protection. Pursuant to CFR 1903.9, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including an explanation of how these steps protect its employees from falls (An abatement plan and periodic progress reports may also be required if the abatement period is more than 90 days).
