29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) 24483 Sussex Highway, Seaford, DE - Bulk Ice Storage Room - Adequate guarding of the auger channel was not provided. Employees work in the area on a daily basis. This exposed the employees to amputation and crushing hazards from accidental contact with the unguarded rotating auger channel. On 05/30/2012, an employee slipped into to the channel and sustained an amputation to his right leg. The violation was observed on or about June 8, 2012. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
