Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:05/16/13 Location:Warehouse Area Equipment:Eight Foot Husky Fiberglass Stepladder Condition:The top step of the stepladder was used as a step, to access, an 8 foot 5 inch platform. (b)Date of Violation:05/16/13 Location:Warehouse Area Equipment:Eight Foot Husky Fiberglass Stepladder Condition:The stepladder had a bent spreader bar. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard, is to not utilize the top step of stepladders and to remove from service any stepladders, with a bent spreader bar, as referenced by, ANSI A 14.5 1982 9.3.2 (1) Climbing and Working Locations, and ANSI A 14.5 1982 9.4.2 Damaged Ladders.s,
