Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to the hazard of collapse of the mast: For the employees working within the radius of the derrick on or about February 9, 2012, and times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure the guy wires were properly rigged to the anchors. Employees were exposed to fall and struck by hazards. Among other useful and feasible abatement methods, the employer can train employees in the proper method of rigging guy wires and the proper connecting of wire rope to chain.ting
