Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: LIFTING

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) Jobsite, 116 McKeon Way, Greensburg, PA: On or about May 13, 2011, the employer did not ensure that the clamp device (under the hook lifting device) used to move loads on the marble slab handling side of the facility was marked with a load rating. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable methods of abatement would be to follow the precepts of chapter 20 of the 2010 Edition of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, B30.20, which states that under the hook lifting devices must have the load capacity of the lifting device legibly marked on it's main structure where it is visible.
