Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: STRUCK BY
levels, such as but not limited to bridge cranes. Two employees attempting to troubleshoot and/or repair the hoist of the P & H 10 ton bridge crane (serial number 35242) were using a scissor lift (serial number 10936) as a means to access the hoist control box. The scissor lift, which was positioned between the trolley rails, was struck by the hoist resulting in the lift overturning. This condition exposed employees to a fall of approximately twenty feet. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Assure the scissor lift is operated and employees are trained in accordance with the acceptable requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for Self- Propelled Elevating Work Platforms, ANSI/SIA A92.6-1999.
