North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall and struck-by hazards: a)jobsite, 1122 Sam Newell Road, on 2/13/09, for the employees setting trusses on a 10 foot wall. Employer failed to adequately brace the trusses to prevent excess movement during placement, exposing employees to fall and struck-by hazards when the trusses collapsed. Abatement Note: among other methods, one feasible method to reduce this hazard would be to follow the recommendations of the manufacturer's truss layout plan and the recommendations of the Truss Plate Institute.
