Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a monorail system capacity and a hoist capacity that did not match: (a) Facility, Sheeter Room: On or about January 22, 2010, employees were using an underhung hoist that had a capacity of 1,100 pounds and the monorail system that supported the hoist was only rated at 500 pounds. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to upgrade the monorail system to match the capacity of the hoist unit.
