Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: a.On or about January 18, 2008, spray area, a periodic inspection of the two ton Coffing hoist had not been completed. b.On or about January 18, 2008, manufacturing area, a periodic inspection of the two-ton hoist on the back rail had not been completed. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to assure that the hoist are inspection in accordance with ANSI/ASME B30.16-2003 Overhead Hoists (Underhung).
