Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: CRUSHING
21 VSA Title 23, Chapter3, Sub-chapter 5, Section223 (a),Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees ,in that, they were exposed to being struck by commercial vehicle, private vehicles and heavy machinery on the Tipping Floor. Location: Tipping Floor, 1496 Redmond Road, Williston VT 05495 Violation: The employer did not provide a work place free from recognized hazards that could cause or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to crushing/fatality hazards when commercial and private vehicles were not following the designated traffic pattern on the tipping floor. Among other methods, feasable and reasonable methods to correct the hazard include but are not limited to: a)Retrain employees on written " Operations Plans for BTS Transfer Station Waste Drop Off". b) Enforcement of the "Operations Plans for BTS Tranfer Station Waste Drop Off".
