Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: BURNS
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: IN THE ALTERNATIVE: 29 CFR 1910.119(e)(5): The employer did not establish a system to complete actions recommended by the process hazard analysis team as soon as possible. a) At the boiler house where recommendations for installation of burner management system to HK5 and HK6 furnaces from process hazard analysis (PHA) from 2001 and 2004 had not been resolved. Among other methods, one feasibly and acceptable method to abate the hazard is to install burner management system to furnace HK5 and HK6 in accordance to NFPA 8502, 2004.
