Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: On or about February 2, 2006, an employee was exposed to crushing hazards while operating the New Holland Skid-Steer Loader, Model Number L-778, Serial Number 245342, because the skid-steer loader operator was not trained in the safe operation of the skid-steer loader. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to ensure all operators of the New Holland Skid-Steer Loader are trained in accordance with the Manufacturer and the Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute. ***THIS ITEM REQUIRES DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT***
