Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling and run over hazards: On or about 08/01/05, near the sand blasting area, an employee was exposed to falling and run over hazards while riding a mobile crane. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to prohibit employees from riding on this type of equipment. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
