Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer does not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards while operating a powered industrial truck without wearing seatbelts: (A)Job Site: On March 14, 2005, and at times prior thereto, the Clark forklift, model C500 HY45, serial number HY355 222 2827, was not equipped with a seat belt. ABATEMENT NOTE: One feasible and acceptable method of abatement, amongst others, would be to consult the forklift manufacturer to obtain a seatbelt kit. Note: Abatement certification required for this item.
