Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards while operating a powered industrial truck without wearing seatbelts: (A) Job site: on February 9, 2005 and at times prior the Clark forklift, ( S/N HY355-71-2544) was not equipped with a seat belt. ABATEMENT NOTE: One feasible and acceptable method of abatement, amongst others, would be to consult the forklift manufacturer to obtain a seatbelt kit. Note: Abatement certification required for this item.
