Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: PUNCTURE
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to impalement hazards: a.Taylor Road, Montgomery, Alabama: On June 15, 2005, employees were working around concrete form pins that were not fitted with caps nor were they level with the concrete forms. This condition posed an impalement hazard to the employees. Among other methods two feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard is to install the form pins flush with the concrete forms and/or place caps on the pins.
