Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: CHEMICAL
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials and no quick drenching facility for the eyes was available for use: a)Milk Room, Office, on or about 11/12/04: No eye wash facility was provided for employees using and dispensing corrosive chemicals including, but not limited to; Nitro Phos 660 and Surfac. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard is to install an eye wash in accordance with American National Standards Institute Z358.1-1998. Abatement certification is required for this item.
