Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: LACKTRAIN
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of untreated injuries due to inadequate emergency medical treatment on-site: a) On or about April 22, 2004 and at times prior, M2P2 dba Heritage Farms L.L.C. did not ensure that employees were protected from emergency hazards. 1. The farm first aid kits were not evaluated, stocked, and maintained. 2. No first aid responders were trained and assigned at the remote sites to administer first aid as needed. Among others, a feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is: a) Perform an evaluation of the necessary supplies, stock the farms as needed, train employees to be first responders, and maintain the program.
