Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by steel plates that employees were picking up using a radio control pendant that was missing labels which describe the function of the control pendant buttons: Burn Table Area: On or about 8/4/06, the employer did not ensure the control pendant for the Able Bridge/Saturn Hoist crane was labeled as to the function of the radio control pendant buttons in that it was missing all labels. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to ensure all crane control pendants are labeled according to ANSI B30-17 2003 "Overhead and Gantry Cranes."
