Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 11/21/04, in front of 1705 SE Sailfish Point Blvd., three employees were subject to a crushing hazard because they were allowed to work under a load of unstable pipes. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to insure that the load is properly secured before allowing employees to work in its vicinity. IN THE ALTERNATIVE 29 CFR 250(a)(1): Materials stored in tiers were not stacked, racked blocked, interlocked, or otherwise secured to prevent sliding, falling or collapse: On or about 11/21/04, in front of 1705 Sailfish Blvd, three employees were exposed to crushing hazards while unloading pipes which were not secured against collapse. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
