Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:11/28/03 Location:Atrium Area, Northeast Corner Condition:Employees were exposed to a 35 foot fall hazard while operating/working within an elevated manually propelled carriage that was not designed or constructed under the direction of a registered professional engineer. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to have the system installed by a registered professional engineer experienced in such design. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
