Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazard of fire and smoke inhalation from grease fires at deep fryers: (a)Cook Room - Employees are exposed to hazard of fire and smoke inhalation when working at two deep fryers. The fryers were not equipped with exhaust ventilation system and automatic fire extinguishing system. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to install exhaust ventilation system with an automatic fire extinguishing system at two deep fryers complying with the applicable requirements in NFPA 1, "Fire prevention Code", NFPA 13, "Standard for Installation of Sprinkler Systems" and NFPA 96, "Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commerical Cooking Operation".
