Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: LIFTING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falls from elevated work platforms: (a) On or about January 8, 2004 - The field manufactured work platform was not securely attached to the lifting carriage or forks of the Caterpillar rough terrain fork lift. One acceptable means of abatement is to securely attach the work platform to the carriage with a chain attached to the work platform and to the forks or lifting carriage. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION NOT REQUIRED
