Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. a. On or about September 18, 2002, electrical panel boxes did not have covers installed, thereby exposing employees to contact with live electrical parts. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the National Electrical Code 1990, Article 370-24 Covers and Canopies which reads: In completed installations, each box shall have a cover, faceplate, or fixture canopy.
