Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: ELECTRIC
North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: 1)Employer Mr. Bennie Ray and Bennie Kent Gupton failed to provide to each of his employees a place of employment wherein employees were not exposed to live electrical parts. At Mr. Bennie Ray and Bennie Kent Gupton's temporary labor camp workers were exposed daily to live electrical parts switch plates and outlet plates were not installed and as electrical light fixtures have been removed leaving exposed live electrical wiring. One acceptable and reasonable method of abatement is to repair electrical lights in the house and install switch plates and outlet plates on all electrical switches and outlet boxes.
