Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an in going nip point hazard: a)Building 15, whirly gig machine, on or about 09/07/00: Top and bottom conveyor was not guarded at the lower end where material is fed. ABATEMENT NOTES: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to: Install barrier guard to prevent employee contact with in going nip point.
