North Carolina General Statute 95-129 (1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)establishment, parts storage area -- employer utilized a shelving unit for storage of heavy metal parts without determining load capacity, stability and adequacy or the storage unit for its intended us. ABATEMENT:Determine load capacity, stability and adequacy and implement industry and manufacturing recommendations as necessary to assure the shelving unit is fit for the intended purpose.
