North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees condition of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to dropped loads: a)sheet metal shop -- employees were operating 4 Coffing 1 ton overhead electric powered chain hoists. Hoists were used to lift 400 lb. metal frame wall sections. Labels concerning operating procedures and warnings were not affixed to hoist, load block or controls. (ANSI B30.16- 1981, sec. 16-1.1.4) one feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct the hazard is to affix to the controls labels and warnings concerning proper hoist operating procedures.(ANSI B30.16-1981, sec. 16-1.1.4)81,
