Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a)At Owens Illinois, Batch House in the Vega Alta Plant, a mechanic electrician was working on the dust filters, situated on the terrace roof. He was standing on the railing approximately 20 feet above the floor checking an electric cable that was making contact, and was not using any fall protection. One feasible and acceptable abatement method among others, to correct this hazard is: 1. Use of a free standing ladder supported scaffold and wear a body belt/harness. 2. Train employees with respect to personal protective equipment and the importance of using it. a)En Owens Illinois, Torre de Mezcla Planta de Vega Alta, mecanico electricista estaba trabajando en los filtros de polvo, situado en la azotea. El estaba parado en la baranda que estaba aproximadamente a 20 pies del piso verificando unos cables electricos que estaban haciendo contacto y no estaba usando proteccion contra caidas. Un metodo de correccion viable y aceptable entre otros, para corregir el riesgo es: 1. Usar "free standing ladder supported scaffold" y usar un arnes de cuerpo. 2.
