Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) In that no procedures were developed or implemented to ensure the mechanical integrity of the carbon dioxide piping system at the Jones Dairy Farm facility. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD INCLUDES: a) Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the carbon dioxide piping system in accordance with the Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet G-6.1-1995, Section 7, Maintenance, Inspection and Repair.
