Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling from a ladder: (a) Location - Freezer: On or about 5/6/99, employees were exposed to falls ascending/descending a step ladder while carrying a box of product. Among other means, one feasible means to abate this hazard would be to provide a portable stairway for placing and retrieving boxes from the second level.
