29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1) Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Republic Lumber, Inc. on or about March 16, 2012, near the 1500 block of George St. Sandusky, OH: The employer did not ensure an employee was protected from falls while installing sheeting material to a commercial type structure. While performing this work from the roof of the south porch, the employee was exposed to falls up to 8ft to the ground below.
