Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: %% The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were potentially exposed to respiratory illnesses: (a) The ventilation systems which distribute air throughout the storage facility, were not supplied with an alarm system to notify management and/or employees of system failure which would allow for immediate repair, alternate system utilization or safe evacuation of the storage facility. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: 1) Connect the ventilation system to an emergency alarm system that would alert employees in the event of equipment
