29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2):The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: a) On or about 6/6/2025 at the work site located at 2170 Robinhood St., Sarasota, Florida 34231: The employer did not train employees in the recognition and avoidance of heat related hazards. Employees were exposed to the hazard of high heat from the sun during the performance of their job duties including lifting, carrying, moving and laying rebar. The calculated Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) ranged from 25?- 31? (76? to 87?) and a calculated heat index of 26?-36? (79 ? to 98?) while working outdoors for approximately 8 hours performing moderate to heavy manual labor and wearing long pants, boots, long sleeve shirts, hard hats and gloves. Such exposures are likely to lead to the development of serious heat-related illnesses such as, but not limited to, heat cramps, heat stress, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
