29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1):Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: On or about June 3, 2025, employees were exposed to fall hazards, while utilizing portable ladders to gain access/egress to the working surface to perform roofing work on a residential home located at 1901 Rockside RD, Seven Hills Ohio 44131, the employer did not ensure portable ladders extended 3 feet above the upper landing surface. The Spartan Claims Response Team Co. dba Spartan StormShield was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1926.1053(b)(1) Ladders, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1680148, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on July 31, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 1946 Wynwood Drive, Rocky River, Ohio 44303.
