29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):"Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. The employer does not protect each employee required to work from elevations during residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels by providing and ensuring the use guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, or providing alternative fall protection measures under provisions of paragraph 1926.501(b): This most recently occurred on or about March 11, 2025, employees were exposed to falls of approximately 12.3 feet or more above ground level while engaged in residential construction activities. Fall protection was not being utilized while performing framing activities. RZ Carpentry, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1656946, citation number 2, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on July 24, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 22557 Melina Street, Kildeer, IL 60010. RZ Carpentry, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1510611, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 3, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 23 E. 59th Street, Hinsdale, IL 60521.
