29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1):Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: On or about February 25, 2025, employees utilized an extension ladder as a means of access and egress into an excavation that did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed while performing work for a sewer water project. HD Weaver Ditching Service Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number1607337, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 01-11-2023, with respect to a workplace located at 1585-179 E 35th St Harvest Edition Wolfforth, TX.
