29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Projecting shaft ends shall present a smooth edge and end and shall not project more than one-half the diameter of the shaft unless guarded by nonrotating caps or safety sleeves. On or about May 13, 2025, on the Roll Stock machine line, employees were standing at their workstations by the unguarded rotating shaft with its end protruding approximately 2.5 in. (being more than half of its diameter) and exposing employees to caught-on entanglement hazard.
