Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.152(g)(11): Each service or refueling area was not provided with at least one fire extinguisher having a rating of not less than 20B:C located so that an extinguisher would be within 75 feet of each pump, dispenser, underground fill pipe opening and lubrication or service center: a) Eastern Branch Lynnhaven River: On or about January 9, 2025, employees are required to fill fuel cans with diesel fuel to refuel the pusher boat. The employer did not ensure that there was a fire extinguisher having a rating not less than 20-B, readily assessable located in the fueling area. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
