29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a. Lot 45 interior of the house - On or about January 10, 2025, employees were using a 14-foot Werner aluminum ladder to gain access to the 2nd floor, the ladder was not positioned to be at least 3 feet above the landing. Employees were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 10 feet to the lower level. b. Lot 45 interior of the house - On or about January 10, 2025, employees were using a 14-foot Werner aluminum ladder to gain access to the 2nd floor, the ladder was not secured at the top to prevent the ladder from slipping or becoming dislodged, exposing employees to a fall hazard. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
