29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer shall conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirements of this standard are being followed. a) On or about November 24, 2024, the employer did not ensure that periodic inspections of energy control procedure for the No. 1 Extruder were conducted at least annually to identify and correct any deviations or inadequacies. Operators engaged in service and maintenance activities that require the use of the machine specific energy control procedure; as a result, any deviations or inadequacies in the procedure would expose employees to serious injury from potential unexpected energization or release of hazardous stored energy. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
