29 CFR 1910.106(b)(6): In locations where flammable vapors may be present, precautions were not taken to prevent ignition by eliminating or controlling sources of ignition. Sources of ignition may include open flames, lightning, smoking, hot surfaces, frictional heat, sparks (static, electrical, and mechanical), spontaneous ignition, chemical and physical-chemical reactions, and radiant heat: (a) On or about October 25, 2024, at 44470 Ravenwood Road, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, employees were exposed to explosion and fire hazards when fueling a boat and the employer did not ensure that ignition sources such as, but not limited to, sparks due to connecting the battery at the same time and static were eliminated or controlled.
