29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Front counter area; On or about October 10, 2024, and dates prior, employees using the Hobart brand model 6801 Vertical Meat Saw to cut meat products were exposed to an approximate 11-inch portion of the blade that was not properly guarded as the upper blade guide and guard was not adjusted to only the height necessary to protect the unused portion of the blade.
