Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1):The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: At the jobsite located 2 miles east of Meade, Kansas on the southside of Hwy 54, employees working within the vicinity of an unprotected open water pit were exposed to falling in. The employer's fall protection training was deficient, in that it did not instruct employees on the recognition of the fall hazard into the pit, avoidance of the hazard and/or how to protect themselves from the hazard.
