29 CFR 1910.106(h)(7)(ii)(b): Hot work, such as welding or cutting operations, use of spark-producing power tools, and chipping operations shall be permitted only under supervision of an individual in responsible charge who shall make an inspection of the area to be sure that it is safe for the work to be done and that safe procedures will be followed for the work specified. a) On or about 06/27/2024; in the Making Department, safe procedures such as the "Spark Hazard Permit Procedures" were not followed when pumping a flammable mixture of Carbon disulfide (CS2) and water with a submersible pump in a Class I hazardous location, exposing employees to fire and explosion hazards. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
