29 CFR 1910.184(d): Each day before being used, the sling and all fastenings and attachments were not being inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer: On or about June 6, 2024 and at times prior thereto, in the storage yard where employees performed preventive maintenance on a workover rig floor using a steel chain sling without the chain being inspected for damage or defects by a competent person.
