Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1025(f)(1)(ii): Respirators for protection against lead were not used or were not provided when engineering and/or work-practice controls were not sufficient to reduce employee exposures to or below the permissible exposure limit: At a worksite located at 4722 Pear Street, St. Joseph, MO: Employees were exposed to toxic or hazardous substances in the form of lead. This was demonstrated on or about May 21, 2024, and at times prior to when employees were observed in the COS lines lifting their respirators away from their faces to facilitate communication. This creates a failure to maintain the face seal of the respirator which could contribute to lead exposure and respiratory contamination.
