29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Unguarded projecting shaft end(s) projected more than one half the diameter of the shaft: a) At the Brewer Saw area: On or about 06/06/2024, and times prior to, the employer exposed employees to caught-in hazards, in that employees worked near the conveyor where employees could be entangled by a rotating smooth shaft at the end of the conveyor that extended out 4 inches. The diameter was 2.5 inches, extending more than 1/2 the diameter. b) At the Gang/Board Table area: On or about 06/06/2024, and times prior to, the employer exposed employees to caught-in hazards, in that employees worked near the conveyor where clothes could be entangled by a rotating smooth shaft at the end of the conveyor that extended out 4 inches. The diameter was 2.5 inches, extending more than 1/2 the diameter. c) At the Sorter area: On or about 06/06/2024, and times prior to, the employer exposed employees to caught-in hazards, in that employees worked near the conveyor where clothes could be entangled by a rotating smooth shaft at the end of the conveyor that extended out 2.5 inches. The diameter was 2 inches, extending more than 1/2 the diameter.
