29 CFR 1926.602(c)(1)(vi): Industrial truck(s) in use did not meet the applicable requirements of design, construction, stability, inspection, testing, maintenance, and operation, as defined in American National Standards Institute B56.1-1969, Safety Standards for Powered Industrial Trucks. a) 1001 Tuckerton Road, Evesham NJ: The employer did not ensure that the company worksite Foreman, operating a powered industrial truck used at the worksite, complied with all applicable requirements as defined in the ANSI B56.1-1969, including but not limited to lowering any load, removing the keys from the machine's ignition, etc. prior to exiting the powered industrial truck. The company worksite Foreman, operating a Baraga Products, Inc. Square Shooter Terex All Terrain Lift, elevated unsecured 2 x 4s set on the lift's forks, in excess of 12 feet above the ground, and left this lift unattended with its forks elevated, partially tilted back, and not landed onto a residential structure's second floor to perform framing and sheathing activities. ANSI B56.1 - 1969, Safety Standards for Powered Industrial Trucks, requires that when leaving a Powered Industrial Truck unattended, load engaging means shall be fully lowered, controls shall be neutralized, the key or connector plug removed, etc. Observed on or about 02/06/24.
