29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a.) On or about January 10, 2024, at 1410 Malibu Circle, employees were using an extension ladder to access the roof and the side rails were approximately 24 inches (2 rungs) past the roof landing , exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately 9 feet 4 inches. b.) On or about January 10, 2024, at 1420 Malibu Circle employees were using an extension ladder to access the roof, and the side rails were approximately 18 inches (1.5 rungs) past the roof landing , exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately 8 feet 7 inches.
